Our Story

LaunchPoint Leadership was founded in 1994 under the organizational name of The Management Group by legacy founder, Marj Flemming.  The emphasis quickly changed from training managers to developing and strengthening leaders, so the name change followed that thinking.  The impetus for the change, however, wasn’t a “spur of the moment” decision.  As we researched a variety of industries and large non-profit organizations, the thing that seemed to be missing was strong leaders – people who had weathered some of the hard lessons necessary to become authentic, ethical, and effective leaders.

In 2016, Marj asked Ronna-Renee to join her as she piloted a Women Mentoring Women offering for Chattanooga Women's Leadership Institute (CWLI).  The pilot was a huge success and together, Marj and Ronna-Renee trained several cohorts of women leaders on how to be an effective mentor.  The class grew into a staple of CWLI’s offering and other practitioners joined the roster of presenters in order to expand the focus of the class.  Designing that initial offering though, lit a fire in both Marj and Ronna-Renee to develop mentors.  They each recognize the role that mentors have played in their own professional success, and they again started asking questions about which companies had mentor programs and how the company was measuring their ROI in such programs.  Once again, the research inspired the outcome and Marj and Ronna-Renee developed a course focused specifically on training mentors.

In 2020, Marj became “Chair Emeritus” of LaunchPoint Leadership and Ronna-Renee purchased the company from Marj.  Since that time, Ronna-Renee has leveraged her experiences of frequently moving and the demands of the pandemic to expand in to more digital offerings, for both 1:1 coaching and workshops.

As a sought-after speaker, Ronna-Renee has captivated audiences from the National Foundation for Women Legislators, to corporate leadership events, to church women events and schools.
